According to Super League of Malawi;
Patrick Macheso of Dwangwa United scored the first goal of the 2017 season.
John Dambuleni of Civil Sporting, John Chalamanda of Masters Security, Aubrey Chafewa of Blantyre United, Sam Chibvunde of Kamuzu Barracks and Bob Longwe of Mzuni F.C were the unlucky ones to score past their own goal minders.
Civil Sporting F.C are the leading scorers in the elite league having scored 47 goals followed by the Nomads with 46 goals, NMC Big Bullets with 41 goals and deposed champions KB with 40 goals.
The team with the most water tight defense in 2017 is NMC Big Bullets having conceded only 10 goals and are followed by the champions Be Forward Wanderers and Silver Strikers with 16 goals conceded each.
The Champions Nomads, NMC Big Bullets and Silver Strikers were all invisible at home the entire 2017 season.
Bullets have now gone four seasons unbeaten at home.
Azam Tigers have been the draw specialist with 14 drawn matches followed by the principal bankers with 13 drawn matches.
Rookies Chitipa United finished the season without a win away and had the worst defensive record having conceded 60 goals

followed by Blantyre United who conceded 57 goals.
Wizards F.C, Blantyre United and Chitipa United will be relegated.
Deposed Champions Kamuzu Barracks scored and conceded 40 goals just like their fellow brothers in arms Mafco F.C who scored and conceded 31 goals finish the league with a zero goal aggregate.
All teams in the top eight have a positive goal difference except for Moyale who have a negative 4 goal aggregate.
NMC Big Bullets (26), Wizards F.C (26), Kamuzu Barracks (27), Azam Tigers (27) and Dwangwa United (28) having finished the season without red cards. Red Lions have the worst disciplinary record in 2017 having accumulated 53 cards of which 6 were red and their player Innocent Mlima was red carded on three occasions.
They are followed by Mzuni with 44 cards of which 3 were red, Mafco as well 44 cards.
